Bentrovati  dal vostro marziano,

Quest’oggi sorvolando i vari continenti del vostro pianeta e ammirando gli incantevoli scenari che questi offre, mi sono ritrovato sulle sponde di un fiume nei pressi di quella che voi chiamate: Citta’ del Messico.

Proprio in questo luogo ho conosciuto un affascinante creatura di cui oggi andremo a conoscere meglio da vicino …ecco a voi la Salamandra AXOLOTL.

Curiosa e buffa, questa creatura ha caratteristiche davvero incredibili.Vive sui fondali sabbiosi e ricchi di vegetazione in acque fresce e molto ossigenate. E’ capace di resistere anche a temperature sotto lo zero, grazie al suo autoregolamento del metabolismo.

Cio’ che la rende ancora piu’ straordinaria, è la sua capacità di trasformarsi (metamorfosi) quando le condizioni delle acque diventano troppo ostili cosi ristringendo le branchie si sviluppano i polmoni permettendole di vivere sulla terra ferma. Può diventare lunga 30 cm e riesce a rigenerare le parti del proprio corpo!

Sfido chiunque di voi umani nel riuscire a far ciò.

Pur sembrando invincibile, questo piccolo essere nello stato di conservazione della specie, è considerato ‘critico’.

Oltre all’inquinamento del suo habitat,anche a causa del suo aspetto dai vari colori e i ciuffi branchiali ai lati del capo, la rendono ‘’oggetto’’ di pesca per l’uso domestico portandola pian piano  verso l’estinzione. Un tempo alcuni di voi umani la servivano persino come pietanza.

Concludendo, nel suo menu vi troviamo ogni forma di vita che sia alla portata della sua bocca.

Con tutte le sue incredibili caratteristiche la Salamandra AXOLOTL merita senza alcun dubbio la salvaguardia della sua specie.

Today, flying over the various continents of your planet and admiring the stunning panoramas they offer, I found myself on the banks of a river near what you call ‘The City of Mexico’.

In this place I met a charming creature who we will visit today to understand better …  the Axolotl Salamander.

He seems strange and slightly comical, but this creature has incredible features.
He lives on the sandy beds of rivers and streams with rich vegetation, in fresh water with plenty of oxygen. He is able to withstand subzero temperatures, because he is able to regulate his own metabolism.

What makes him more incredible is his ability to change his physical form (metamorphose) when conditions become too hostile in his waters… shrinking his feathery gills and developing lungs, so allowing him to live on land. Also he can regenerate any of his body parts, and grows up to 30cm long.

He can eat anything, the variety of his menu is limited only by the size of his mouth.

I challenge any of you people to try doing these things!
Yet, while seemingly invincible, this little being is considered an endangered species, critically near extinction.

In fact, besides the pollution of his habitat, he is hunted by collectors due to his colorful gills and curious shape, and in the past he was even served as a delicacy on your dinner tables.

With all his beauty and magnificent skills, the Axolotl Salamander undoubtedly deserves your protection.
