Oggi il vostro luko si ritrova nuovamente a sorvolare l’Africa dove tra le sue immense savane sono rimasto incantato da una vera e propria opera d’arte vivente…

 …Amici umani vi presento la Zebra.

Questa splendida creatura fa parte della stessa famiglia del cavallo cioe’ quella equina, dal mantello rigato costituito da strisce chiare e scure alternate la cui direzione disposizione e numero varia da una specie all’altra. Sembra proprio di assistere ad un

quadro di arte moderna in movimento.

Questi esemplari vivono in branchi di circa 7 elementi, e non stanno mai in compagnia di altre specie di zebre ma preferiscono quella di creature come i bufali lo gnu e lo struzzo.

gli struzzi in particolare sono fedeli amici delle zebre che traggono vantaggio dalla vigilanza e dalla prudenza innatedi questi  grandi uccelli.

Durante la sera il branco comincia a pascolare e va a bere sotto la guida di un maschio vigile , poichè questo è il momento in cui la zebra puo’ venire attaccata,al minimo segnale di pericolo, scappano via raggiungendo i 60 Km/h. Se un felino riesce ad avvicinarsi alla zebra,deve subito metterla fuori combattimento altrimenti questa si difendera’ a colpi di denti e zoccoli,costringendo l’assalitore alla ritirata.

Il grido della zebra ricorda quello dell’asino e del cavallo.

Tutti i sensi risultano sviluppati; nessun rumore sfugge loro e anche la vista è molto acuta. La durata della gestazione varia dai 345 ai 390 giorni ed il suo grido assomiglia a quello dell’asino e del cavallo.La femmina partorisce un solo piccolo alla volta, che sgambetta subito dopo la nascita dietro la madre. Inoltre questa creatura non supera i 28 anni di vita.Oltre a voi umani  il principale nemico è il leone, che attacca spesso la sera, fortunatamente il mantelo della zebra di sera diventa mimetico.

Attualmente esistono solo tre specie di zebre che si distinguono tra loro specialmente per la forma e la disposizione delle righe : la zebra di Grévy o zebra reale per la statura, l’armonia delle forme e l’eleganza; la zebra di montagna o zebra comune e la zebra di Grent.

un tempo vi erano molte specie diverse di questo magnifico essere vivente, purtroppo  sono state cacciate così intensamente che alcune di esse si sono completamente estinte ed altre sono notevolmente ridotte.

Un opera d’arte vivente che come tale va preservata il piu’ a lungo possibile.

human friends let me introduce you the zebra.

This beautiful creature is part of the same family as the horse,the equine. a mantle lined consists of alternating light and dark stripes whose direction arrangement and number varies from species to species. It seems to see a picture of modern art in motion.
These individuals live in herds of about seven , and they never stay in the company of other species of zebra but prefer creatures like buffalo, wildebeest and ostrich.
Ostriches in particular are loyal friends of the zebras, who benefit from supervision and the innate caution of these giant birds.
During the evening, the herd begins to graze and to drink under the watchful guidance of a male, since this is the time when the zebra can be attacked. At the slightest sign of danger, they run away, reaching speeds of 60 km / h.

If a cat is able to get close to the zebra, has been put it out of action, otherwise it will defend itself by blows of teeth and hooves, forcing the assailant to retreat.
